The problem between Betting shops and Casinos

betting shops

The proprietor of one of the major casinos in Britain has attacked the betting shops for ‘destroying the high street’ and informed that he is going to lobby the government to take severe measures against the questionable immutable preponderance of betting machines.

The restoration of the London Hippodrome in Leicester Square cost $45 million to Simon Thomas. So he commented, “The greatest bets and winnings have always been typical for gambling industry, although this industry pays the greatest taxes and has the largest amount of restrictions, and casinos in particular. But as a result, the situation with the betting shops, which has the highest and fastest bets and only one staff member as a rule, is absurd!”

“Many countries in Europe have already banned these machines and don’t let them on the high street as one of the major factors that ruins the person’s life. British politicians should also take some steps to correct the situation.”

According to the statistics, there are approximately 3 thousand gaming machines in casinos and 33 thousand in betting shops. The possible top stake in the casino is £5 while in the shop it is £100, which really increases the danger of gambling addiction. But gaming providers don’t want to acknowledge this relation.

A gambling spokesman focused on the fact that alcohol is sold in casinos and not in betting shops.

Dan Waugh from Regulus Partners gaming consultancy underlined, “Until all the regulations were imposed on gambling, everybody was anxious as to the rise of casinos, however they put aside other gaming opportunities.”
